Blood Stem Cell Donor Registration Camp

SRC in association with DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry organized the Blood Stem Cell Donors Registration Camp on 7th and 8th October. Every year, thousands of Leukaemia, Thalassemia, Lymphoma and other patients with severe blood disorders needing stem cell transplant in our country die due to lack of HLA matched donors.

  A cotton swab is rubbed inside a person's cheek which is then tested for his HLA typing.

• 

  A painless procedure of collecting stem cells from the donors

•

  The team that encouraged maximum participation and all it took was a little more love. These are the proud members of Src Ximb.

Many students came forward to participate in the camp. These registrations will help in increasing the probability of getting a matched donor and thereby saving the life of a terminally ill patient.
